Grow A New Hoof!

To me this isn’t terribly new, I’ve had a few close friends who have dealt directly with sloughed hoof capsules and so on. Somehow my curiosity just doesn’t tire of it though and I thought I’d share this with you.

Apparently Step Ahead Farm takes on challenging cases to bring horses back to performance health. Very neat, I encourage you to dig around their website some and look at the different case examples. The original case that caught my attention was case #182, a 2 year old QH mare who sloughed her hoof capsule after an injury to the coronary band.

Oh, and just caught site of them dealing with a crack to the coronary band… all very intriguing. What do you think, interesting or disgusting?
